Grand River Sailing Club
GRSC Sailing School Program
The goal of the GRSC Sailing School Program is to promote sailing and provide the opportunity to sail on Lake Michigan. Students will participate in at least three interactive classroom lessons taught by experienced sailors. Students will graduate to Monday Night Lite Racing with at least three on the water outings. Indoor classes are tentatively scheduled from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at the GRSC Clubhouse.

Class 1 (May 4th, 2015): Boat Anatomy & Knot Tying Fun

- Several lines/ropes for hands on demonstrations
- Parts of a sailboat
- Discussion and questions
- Points of Sail
- Apparent vs. Real Wind Demonstrations
- Rules of the Road
- Helming
- Safety Devices/Emergency Situations
- Navigational Markers
